Sandy's career has spanned education, the arts, and business in roughly equal measure. Between 1980 and 1995, he held senior positions in several high technology companies, including running both national and global business units. In 1995 set out on his own and became a co-founder and principal of ChangeWise, Inc. (www.ChangeWise.biz), a small management consulting firm that specializes in leadership development. For the past 10 years, Sandy has worked primarily with senior executives. He coaches them on how to become more effective and more fulfilled in their leadership roles, in large part by helping them increase their personal resilience. Sandy has developed a methodology based on a set of simple daily practices that enables clients to dramatically enhance their capacity to thrive, no matter what their circumstances.
Recently, Sandy invented the concept of "zillience," a coherent and buoyant life energy that he sees as the precursor to, and foundation of, resilience. He is currently writing a book on how to generate zillience and how to sustain it so that, when under duress, you can draw on it instantly and come up with resilient, highly adaptive responses to whatever challenges you encounter.
Sandy has also developed a number of effective group programs based on the instructional manual he authored entitled The Recipe for Resilience: Three Simple Practices for Staying Unfrazzled (www.ResilienceWorks.biz). These offerings reliably help participants increase their personal resilience.
